Tergar Retreats will be a volunteer-run organization.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far and filled out the Volunteer form. You’ve helped us gauge the interest and skills of our community and helped us better understand what we’ll need to run a successful volunteer-led organization.
As we attempt to plan for 3 year retreat construction, fundraising, and what needs to be done onsite in the interim, we have decided to scale back the Summer 2025 volunteer program until we are better able to support and direct onsite work.

Although we will not be hosting work weeks or additional long-term volunteer opportunities this summer, we are considering whether we can host project-specific events (e.g., stupa building) in July and August. Please keep an eye out for announcements.
There is also a welcome celebration on August 16, that closes Mingyur’ Rinpoche’s visit to Portugal. Everyone is invited to register and attend; the event is free and all are welcome. We don’t have any event-support volunteer opportunities at this time, but will update the community if that changes!

For 2026 we will need support in running volunteer programs and opportunities, which include facilitators, work coordinators, housekeeping, and kitchen workers.
